If the workouts you design for the clients have all the elements to get their bodies to work up a sweat, then it doesn’t matter how long or short the workout is. It’ll be effective. However, as a trainer, you should refrain from pushing your clients to the limit because it could result in muscle damage.

So instead, you should be more tactical in designing exercise programs with ample rest times and effective exercises.  Each client has different needs and physical limitations, so every exercise program requires modification to fit the client and give measurable results.

What Should Be Included In Short Workouts?

Core Exercises

Muscles in the abdomen, back, and pelvis are the core muscles. Exercising these muscles protect the back and give the body additional strength. Core workouts are an important part of any workout program because they increase strength and make movements more precise. These exercises reduce the chances of muscle damage and increase the movement of the upper and lower body muscles. Common core exercises are planks, situps, pushups, and bridges.

Cardio Exercises

Cardio exercises are designed to get the client’s heart rate up fast. Thus this exercises would be more effective. They are the basic requirement of any fitness training workout because they increase the oxygen absorption of the body, which increases the blood flow, improves the heart health, increases muscle development, and increases the brain cell activity. Moreover, the body also transports the oxygen faster, which improves the client’s overall health.

Stretching

No workout program begins without stretching. Stretching isn’t just important to increase flexibility and helps clients improve their posture. After stretching, the joints and muscles are warm and, therefore, more receptive to exercises. Stretching also prevents patients from pulling their muscles, leading to serious damage.

Strength Conditioning

Some Short Workouts For Clients With A Busy Schedule

Interval Training

Interval training is an energetic form of workout that includes short bursts of intense activity followed by an equally long resting period.

Moreover, interval training is accompanied by a healthy and nutritional diet to offset the muscle damage. The exercises themselves are relatively easy. They are an intense variation of regular exercises such as jogging, cardio, and aerobics. For example, a client can sprint for 2 minutes instead of jogging for 5 minutes, but they’ll also need 2 minutes of resting time before the next rep.

Aerobics

Aerobics is similar to interval training but less intense. These exercises are characterized by a combination of cardio exercises and regular exercises that get the heart rate up and pump the body with fresh oxygen. One good thing about aerobics is that the clients don’t need to do it at the gym. These workouts can be done by swimming, cycling, elliptical training, and running.

These exercises are also good for people with heart issues because it helps them improve their heart activity and increase blood flow. Not just that, but the fresh oxygen is also good for the brain’s health.

High Impact Workouts

High-impact workouts are similar to cardio exercises but a bit more intense. These exercises involve several jumping and jolting exercises that require both feet to be off the ground simultaneously. One downside of these workouts is that they put a lot of force on the joints, so the clients need to have good joint health, and you also need to balance the high-impact workouts with strength conditioning. Some common high-impact workouts are running, burpees, jumping jacks, and lunges.

On-The-Go Workouts

On-the-go workouts are those which clients can incorporate into their daily routine without making extra time for the gym. These workouts include cycling, swimming, running, and jump rope. The best thing about these workouts is that clients can do them at home or when they’re out running an errand.

But sometimes, it may take a long while for clients to see meaningful results because the workouts don’t stimulate the body enough. However, these workouts are still better than the clients not working out at all.
