Liability (for bodily injury and property damage)

  • Liability is the amount it will pay you even if you injure someone or damage someone’s property (The most common example is if you hit and damage someone else’s car).
  • The more coverage you have the less chance you would have to pay out of pocket to pay for the other party’s injuries or damage to your property.
  • This coverage is required by law to drive and is also required to register your car.

Uninsured Motorists

  • This coverage pays for your injuries if someone without insurance hits you or your injured passengers.
  • Although this coverage is recommend so that you can carry uninsured motorist protection, it is not require.

Full Coverage (Comprehensive)

  • The coverage replaces your vehicle up to the cash value of your car in the event of theft, fire, vandalism, falling objects, riots, storms, earthquakes, floods, or collision with an animal and other natural phenomena.
  • There is a deductible of usually either $500 or $1,000. The higher the deductible, the lower your payments.
  • Making a comprehensive claim to repair or replace your vehicle does not increase your future rates.
  • This coverage is not require by law, but is require by most finance companies if your car is being finance.

Collision

  • This collision coverage replaces your vehicle up to the actual value of your car in the event your car is damaged from hitting another vehicle or object.
  • There is a deductible of usually either $500 or $1,000. The higher the deductible, the lower your payments.
  • Filing a car accident claim could increase your future rates for 3 years if the accident was your fault.
  • This coverage is not required by law, but is required by most finance companies if your car is being financed.

Car rental

  • Car Rental pays for your car rental expenses in the event you are unable to drive your car due to a claim.
  • You have a choice of how much you would pay per day ($25 to $40) and for how many days (10 to 30 days).
  • This coverage is only available if you have comprehensive coverage for your auto in the event of an accident keep in mind that this coverage is optional.

Uninsured Driver and Property Damage

Uninsured Motorist pays for damages to your vehicle up to $3,500 if someone without insurance hits your car and damages it. This coverage is only available if you have uninsured motorist coverage.

This coverage is only available if you do not have comprehensive coverage.

Deductible Elimination

  • Deductible Elimination covers in case of an accident in which the other vehicle does not have coverage when your vehicle is damaged.
  • This coverage is only available if you have uninsured motorist coverage.
  • This coverage is only available if you have collision coverage.

Medical coverage

This coverage pays medical expenses up to the selected limit, for you and each injured in a car accident.
